The Stäbchen set, named after the shortened German word for “chopsticks” is based on a modern take of Bauhaus design, which was found in Germany. I designed the set according to Bauhaus design principles of using bold shapes and juxtaposing different materials or colors. As with Bauhaus, there is no tapering with any of the three pieces - lines are straight and direct. I chose to use metal for the decorative wiring part and wood for the main part, I wanted to choose contrasting materials that could still provide a modern look to the Bauhaus style.

 

The final model was 3D printed from renderings made on Solidworks.
